Title: Reclaiming Schemas in Schema Therapy: The Role of Emotional Learning.

Abstract: Schema Therapy is a highly effective therapy that has a growing evidence base of effectiveness with the most difficult of patients – those with a range of personality disorders. In recent years ST has changed direction from schemas to modes. In this paper I will argue for a return to schemas as domains of Emotional Learning. This is a concept from Coherence Therapy and I will suggest various techniques to uncover specific EL. The paper also introduces a mechanism of change of EL through memory reconsolidation from the neurosciences.
